A first taste of Georgia

A 6-day starting point for a first visit: Tbilisi’s old streets, the ancient churches of Mtskheta, the road north to Kazbegi and a day among Kakheti’s vines. Short driving days, no rushing. It is an idea, not a package.

Where the nights go

  1. Tbilisi 2 nights

    The old city, Mtskheta’s churches.

  2. Kazbegi 1 night

The Military Highway, Ananuri and Gergeti Trinity Church.

  3. Kakheti 1 night

    Vineyards and a long lunch.

  4. Tbilisi 1 night

    A final evening before departure.

This is a starting point, not a fixed package.

The idea

Six days is enough to understand why people return. It focuses on three things that feel different from one another: the capital, the mountains and wine country, with the driving days kept short.

How the days might flow

Two nights in Tbilisi, including a day trip to Mtskheta’s ancient churches. Then the Georgian Military Highway north to Kazbegi, with Ananuri on the way and Gergeti Trinity Church beneath Mount Kazbek. The road back down continues east over the Gombori pass to Kakheti for vineyards and a long lunch before a last night in Tbilisi.

Make it yours

Ask for a slower day, an extra night in the mountains, or the sea instead of the vineyards. Start from this idea and Rezo will do the rest.

Questions about this journey

Is 6 days enough for a first trip?

It gives a real first look at the capital, the mountains and wine country with short driving days. Many travellers add days later; Rezo can stretch it.
